Welcome to our beautiful Village
(Best Kept Village winner 2001)

Longborough is a small village in the Cotswold Hills with around 250 houses, a school, a 12th century Church, a village shop and two pubs. A bird's eye view of the village (taken from a balloon by Connie Emm in June 1999) will give you an idea of the lovely countryside surrounding the village.

WHAT'S NEW HERE?
The Virtual Stroll has been updated with some extra
pages and old photographs.
We now have our own domain name: http://www.longborough.org.uk
kindly donated by an ex-Villager, Matt Shillam. The old address still
works, and will continue to do so, but the new one is a lot shorter and
much easier to remember! Thank you, Matt.

A Search Engine for this website has been installed, hope you find it useful.

Read about our History and a take a Virtual Stroll through
the Village as it was in days gone by, and read some outstanding accounts and reminiscences by Villagers
who lived here at the time.

More local villages and towns....
Condicote is our neighbour and probably one of the smallest communities on the internet with a population of around 120.

Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are our two nearest "vital supplies" centres. Until recently Stow was still classed as a village
although it has a worldwide reputation as a fine antiques centre.

Winchcombe is another ancient Cotswold town whose wealth came from the wool trade.

Chipping Campden is a delightful ancient wool town and has a wonderful silversmiths workshop, dating back to the Arts & Crafts Movement, where you are warmly welcomed and shown the intricacies of the silversmiths art.

Broadway was a stopping place on the London to Worcester coaching route and still has many old inns.
