The building centre right was a blacksmiths shop formerly
owned by Mr Phipps.

 

 The last building on the left is the Congregational Chapel built in 1839, now a private dwelling.
 

We continue our journey down the lane into the Moreton Road past some more old cottages and post war developments..

This is the lowest part of the village in the valley at 450 feet. In the fields to the left a gypsy lady once lived and when she died her caravan was burnt, following the old custom.

... up the lane and back into the village...
