Dunaverty golf course

We can advise on a wide range of activities for people who like to DO something on their holidays but who also like to be pampered and to go home feeling totally refreshed and stress free.

GOLF. Kintyre is home to a varied range of golf courses. There is the world famous championship course at Machrihanish, the equally challenging 18 hole links course at Dunaverty and charming 9 hole courses at Carradale, Tarbert and on the Island of Gigha.

CYCLING is a wonderful way to seek out hidden treasures and observe wildlife of which there is an abundance. You will travel alongside seals sunning themselves on the rocks and you will see lots of birds of prey with a very good chance of spotting golden eagles. Recent summers have even brought dolphins close to shore to play. You can bring your own bike or you can use one of our mountain bikes, Please be sure to reserve one when you book. Much of the cycling is on minor roads which see very little traffic and even the few main roads are quiet. There are also forest roads to take you off the beaten track.

WALKING. Outstanding walking opportunities lie close at hand. For those who like to breathe in clean, Highland air and enjoy the music of skylarks, there are open heather moors. Then there are countless shore walks, rugged and rocky or long white sandy beaches. There is the tidal island of Davaar to walk to to see the world famous cave painting. You can walk to the dramatic sea cliffs where golden eagles nest. Just don't go too near the edge!!

FISHING. The area provides ample opportunities for sea, loch and river fishing. We can arrange the necessary permits for you. Let us know when you book.

ARCHAEOLOGY Argyll is a part of Scotland rich in ancient history, with standing stones, cup stones and burial cists.

RELAXING is the most needed activity of them all. You can just wave everyone off in the morning and spend the day curled up at the log stove with that book you've been trying to read for ages!

PAINTING Take your easel and paints and lose yourself in the wonderful clarity of the air and the amazing landscapes you can capture on canvas.
