THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: TRIVIA When Han flies down an asteroid's throat, Leia falls back onto him as the ship is rocked. Leia says: "Captain, being held by you is hardly enough to get me excited". Look closely and you'll see Harrison Ford mouthing her lines.
An extra fell sick and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) was called in as a replacement. He can be seen as the Imperial Guard who pulls Princess Leia into the elevator after she screams "Luke! It's a trap!". He can also be seen as the Imperial Guard who is captured by Lando Calrissian's men. When the Wampa knocks Luke off his tauntaun the creature hits Luke in the back of the head to knock him off, but when Luke hits the ground, there are bloody scratches all over his face.
On Hoth, General Rieekan says: "Send Rogues 10 and 11 to sector 38," a reference to THX 1138 . Lighting for SFX was so strong that several models melted.
When when Leia gives the OK to shut the shield doors, Chewie puts his head down as Leia nods. The doors are closing, without sound, behind Chewie's shoulder. Then you can see them closing with the proper sound afterwards. Just as the Millenium Falcon enters the asteroid field, you can supposedly see two asteroids, one is a potato, the other a shoe. During their duel on the catwalk, Vader strikes a railing, sending sparks everywhere. You can see the black tape that Dave Prowse hits. It was probably some type of pyrotechnic device. When Luke is tumbling in the air shaft after the fight, there is a very short scene) where you can see his right hand, which had just been cut off.
The blasters used by the stormtroopers were constructed from Sterling L2A3 Mk 4 submachine guns. Denis Lawson plays Wedge Antilles. Wedge was not originally scripted to appear in this film, but intense fan interest prompted Lucas to include him. 4-LOM, one of the Star Wars characters, actually stands for 'For the Love Of Money'. This is Carrie Fisher favorite movie of the trilogy. The scene where Han Solo was to be carbon frozen was a long and complex scene which required many takes. Eventually Leia says "I love you" to Han Solo. Ford had heard this line so many times that he changed the scripted "I love you too" to "I know". Lucas didn't want to film the scene again, and thought it read much better that way, so it remained As 3PO enters the junk room on Cloud City you can see the crew being reflected in his head. After being tortured, stormtroopers return Han to his cell. When the troops drop Han it seems that Solo's arm catches the trooper opn the right, and lifts it a little off his head. As the trooper leaves, his helmet is still a little askew. Just after Luke knocks Vader off the deck in Cloud City, he walks around a large machine and doesn't shut his saber off. You can then see him reach back and trade for a hilt with a hidden stagehand. |
