Kathryn is a former music scholar of Sutton Valence School.

She has worked with Holland Park Opera and Scottish Opera and sang Carmen with Lakeland Opera. 

Her accompanist Caroline Jaya-Ratnam has appeared on Radio 3 and

in recitals at the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.

This London-based group consists of recorder, baroque violin,

cello and harpsichord and will play music by

Cima Telemann, Bach, Frescobaldi and de Fesch.

 Here’s a programme for every taste, with the current BBC Young Musician, clarinettist Mark Simpson, joining us in Weber’s delightful 2nd Concerto. Elsewhere Rachmaninov expansively exploits both sumptuous harmonies and lyrical, romantic melodies in his 2nd Symphony, and there’s the evergreen suite from Bizet’s Carmen

Nino Rota: Cello Concerto No.1     Debussy: La Mer

 Superb Italian cellist, Sylvia Chiesa, plays popular Tchaikovsky and a fine Concerto by her film composer compatriot, Nino Rota. She’s framed two of the greatest French impressionist masterpieces, with Ravel’s sparkling vision of Imperial Vienna, La Valse, and Debussy’s intoxicating set of orchestral seascapes, La Mer.

 The Penguin Guide hailed Ronan O’Hara’s recording of Tchaikovsky’s 1st Concerto as ‘an outstanding version, memorably fresh’. Either side we have two more scintillating scores of excitement and passion, with Walton’s homage to the Spitfire from the wartime film The First of the Few and Shostakovich’s electrifying 10th Symphony.
