My wife Anna and myself first took an interest in folk dancing while we were resident in Chile in South America, joining the Chelmsford Folk Dancers 1988. The Chelmsford Folk Dancers started life as the Chelmsford Ceili Club in 1971, it was renamed The Chelmsford Folk Dance Club, this seemed too formal so we are now known as the Chelmsford Folk Dancers, the current membership stands at around forty.
We meet regularly at the British Legion Hall, where we enjoy English and American folk dancing. with the occasional Irish and Scottish folk dance evenings. Should you be visiting Chelmsford and have an interest in English Folk Dance, Please feel free to pay us a visit.
