There are basically three main brake-related maintenance activities that we will try to cover here:

A) Rear Pad Replacement/Check
B) Front Pad Replacement/Check
C) Bleeding/Flushing (Incomplete)

All of these activities will be documented in relation to the standard braking system as fitted to recent De Dion cars (i.e. no uprated components).

Of the three activities, the simplest and easiest to get right is the replacement of the front pads as no special tools are really necessary, and it is hard to make any serious blunders.

Bleeding the brakes is theoretically fairly easy - but in practice (especially with the standard rear callipers), it can be extremely frustrating and hard to do a good job.

Replacing the rear pads is not too difficult - providing you purchase a special tool... ...all will be revealed in the relevant pages... You won't need the tool if you are simply checking the pad condition, however.
