Just a quick illustration of the non-obvious differences between half and full doors...

The elbow-bulge panel is identical on both, but as you'll see below (click for full size images), the HD has an extended-height and length 'fin' that reaches back over the wheel arch and fixes onto the tonneau popper...

Overlap - you can clearly see that the HD (behind) has a taller and longer 'fin' than the full door...

Suggested cut lines for converting a FD to a faux-HD... The white line is OK, and would require some edging strip to be glued onto the cut edge whereas the red line retains the metal insert strip that the mirror is bolted to. This would strengthen the faux-HD and would leave a nice top-edge if folder over and secured on the inside of the door...
