OK, the car is safely jacked up and the rear wheels off...

Let's look at what we've got so far:

Key:
A - Rear Anti-roll bar (ARB) droplink
B - Rear ARB chassis mount
C - Handbrake cable

Right, one of the most obvious items for removal is the rear ARB (anti-roll bar - if one is fitted).

Ours is mounted so that the bar lies on top of the two side chassis rails (see the mount 'B' in the picture above), but below the differential unit. The two parallel ends of the ARB are then attached to the De Dion tube by a pair of 'drop links' - basically an adjustable pivot mechanism that bolts to the De Dion 'ear' (hub/caliper mounting) and to the ARB parallel trailing bar ends.

The ARB chassis mounts (aluminium collars that clamp the rubber ARB bush) can be unbolted quite simply - and the drop links detached. However, at this point, there is insufficient room to allow the ARB itself to be disentangled from the chassis rails and diff (unless the DD tube is raised with a jack). Just leave it as-is for now.

The next step is to remove the brake calipers in preparation for sliding the driveshafts out of the diff.
