When changing OP or OT sensors, some people will recommend that you drain the entire oil system - and others say you can do it without much fluid loss if you're quick (and lucky, we guess).

Obviously the former approach (perform an oil change) is the 'safest' - especially if you are not 100% sure what the bl**dy OP sensor thread is (we had narrowed it down to a choice of three - and Caterham technical staff had given us the *wrong* answer - so it's just as well we did a 'proper job')...

It's up to you - but for us it was a no-brainer:

  1. We didn't have reliable info. about the old OP sensor thread - so couldn't make the parts up before hand.
  2. Sod's law was bound to strike if we tried to cut corners.
  3. The cars were just entering the window for a (very) conservative oil change anyway.

Do you want to risk it?
