GENERAL RULES

1GENERAL
1.1The League shall be known as the BRAUNTON AND DISTRICT MEN'S DARTS LEAGUE.
1.2The object shall be to promote fellowship and improve the standard of play in the district.
1.3The Annual General Meeting shall be held as soon as possible after the close of the season.
1.4The Committee shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting who shall deal with all matters arising during the playing season, their decision being final. The Committee shall consist of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Fixtures and Results Secretary, Competitions Secretary, and up to four other general members.
1.5The Committee shall meet at intervals as and when they see fit to do so.
 
2FINANCE
2.1Teams must pay a registration fee of £50 when their registration form is sent to the Fixture Secretary.
2.2Each player to pay £1 for each Cup Competition entered.
 
3PLAYER REGISTRATION
3.1Captains must complete a registration form and send it to the Fixture Secretary. The Captain must put his own address on the registration form and if any fees are outstanding by the next registration night he will be banned from the league until such fees have been paid.
3.2Players wishing to transfer to another team must register their intent on the back of a result sheet the week before they play for their new team. The Results Secretary shall notify each Team affected by such a transfer when he receives the result sheet.
3.3Teams to consist of a minimum of six players and a maximum of twelve players. The list of players registered for each team will be posted on the League's website.
3.4All new players must be registered in writing, either on the Registration Form or on the back of a result sheet. Any player new to the League registered on a result sheet is eligible to play on that night. You may only de-register a player who has played in the singles or pairs league with the approval of the Committee.
3.5If an unregistered player takes part in a League match (either the singles or the pairs) then on the first offence the result will be amended as if the unregistered player(s) had lost every leg they played; after any subsequent offence the result will be amended as above and the team will be deducted two points in the singles league and two legs in the pairs league.
 
4TROPHIES
4.1The winning team shall hold their Trophy for one season. If a team wins the league Trophy three times in succession it will become their own property.
4.2Should funds permit, medals will be presented to members of the winning team and runners-up.
4.3All players scoring 180 will receive a 180 badge.
4.4Should a team withdraw from the league, all trophies that are the property of the league must be returned immediately.
 
5MATCH RULES
5.1All games must be played on standard size dartboards, with doubles and trebles, bull and inner bull. Height of the board to be 5' 8" (1.73m) from centre of bull.
5.2The length of throw shall be anywhere beyond 7' 9¼" (2.37m). The oche shall be marked by metal strip, heavy tape or movable oche.
5.3The home team must provide a Scorer, each score to be written down and deducted, and scoreboards to be in a prominent position. The Scorer must announce the score after three darts have been thrown.
5.4If there should be two divisions or more, where there are cups for all divisions, each division will only be eligible to play for its own division's cups.
5.5No cancellations whatsoever unless by reason of weather conditions when the Committee to decide.
 
6LEAGUE RULES
6.1The actual day of play to be Friday of each week. In the event of any unfulfilled or unfinished matches, games or points may be awarded against the offending team at the discretion of the committee.
6.2Each match shall consist of six games of three legs 301 double-in, double-out. A Bull to count as double 25. Bust rules to operate in each game. Three doubles or three trebles do NOT count as a rub.
6.3The players (home player first) shall throw for bull before the first leg of each each game to decide who throws first; the first throw in each leg shall alternate thereafter, and the players do not throw for bull before the deciding leg. The score announcer will remove a dart scoring 25 or bull where players are throwing for bull.
6.4Two points for a match win, one point for a draw. In the event of two or more teams being level or points there is to be a play off.
6.5Team Captains to nominate players. The Home Captain will nominate first.
6.6Matches to start at 8.00pm. One player is to be at the venue and ready to play not later than 8.15pm. Provided continuous play is maintained there shall be no need for other players to be present by any particular time.
6.7Any appeals must be lodged with the Secretary in writing within three days of the match.
6.8Should a team withdraw from the league, the team and any points won or lost will be deleted from the league table and all their remaining matches cancelled.
6.9The Pairs League shall consist of three pairs per team, to be played immediately after the League Match. Each pair play one leg 1001 straight in/double out. Result to be placed at bottom of Result Card.
6.10Any team failing to turn up and play its game will have the points awarded against them.
6.11All score cards to be placed in the Results Box at the George Hotel or emailed to the Results Secretary by no later than 2pm on Sunday following the game. It is the responsibility of the winning Captains (if the singles is drawn, then the winner of the pairs) to see that this is done, or his team will lose the points. The signed score cards of results submitted by e-mail must be returned to the Results Secretary as soon as possible.
6.12All 180s and outshots of 100 or more must be recorded on the score card. No 180s or outshots will be accepted if not recorded on the score card. Outshots and 180s achieved in all competitions (including Charity Cups) by Registered League Players will qualify for the Highest Out and 180 Cups.
 
7CUP COMPETITION RULES
7.1All Cup Matches to start at 7.30pm unless different time agreed by committee. Teams will be eliminated if they are not present when their name is called.
7.2Should there be no representatives at the monthly meeting for cup draws then the team will be eliminated for that particular cup.
7.3At Cup matches three or more players from a team with a bye will be assigned to score preliminary matches where applicable. The losers of each Cup Round must supply a scorer for the next match on that board.
7.4In all Pairs, Threes and Fours competitions, Teams must have the correct number of players.
7.5The Singles Shield, Pairs Cup, Threes Cup, Fours Cup, Saunton Hotel Cup, Barnes Cup, Rock Cup and Captains Cup are open to Braunton & District Men's Darts League registered Players only. All other Cup Competitions are open to anyone.
7.6All Finals will be played over five legs. (but see rule 7.18)
7.7Barnes & Rock Cups: Three pairs per team, best of nine legs, 501 flying start.
7.8Saunton Hotel Cup: Five players per team, best of 15 legs, 301 double start.
7.9Fours Cup: Four players per team, best of three legs, 701 flying start.
7.10Threes Cup: Three players per team, best of three legs, 601 flying start.
7.11Pairs Cup: Two players per team, best of three legs, 501 flying start.
7.12Singles Shield: Best of three legs, 301 double start.
7.13Captains and Vice-Captains Cup: Two singles games of 3 legs 301 double start and one doubles leg of 1001 flying start.
Only Captains and Vice Captains are eligible to play in the Captain's and Vice Captains Cup.
7.14Mariners Arms Open: Singles—best of three legs, 301 double start.
7.15Cricket Club Pairs: Two singles games of one leg 501 flying start and one doubles leg of 1001 flying start.
7.16Champion of Champions (Winners of 301 and pairs leagues): Six players per team — best of eighteen legs of 301 double start. If tied, a seventh player from each team (nominated before the match) plays three legs of 301 double start.
If there are two or four teams it will be played as a knockout, otherwise it will be a Round Robin.
7.17Also-Rans Cup: Five players per team — best of fifteen legs, 501 flying start.
7.18The Competition Secretary (or other Committee Member running a Competition) may vary the number of legs to be played in any round, taking into consideration the number of players who have entered and the number of boards available.
