Linen and silk 1000m notes

Just like most of the Bielefeld issues, the above note has different variants. This type of note was issued in yellow or green and from silk or linen. Most appear not to have borders, but as can be seen with this note, edgings did exist. The silk notes are slightly more shiny than the linen varieties and usually a little more 'supple'. It is quite difficult to tell sometimes!

The picture at the top of the note, 'the concert animal hall' is a reference to the proposed concert hall that Bielefeld was going to build. One day a month, it was to be made available for livestock auctions. The illustrator of the note has conveyed this in a humorous way.

The pictue below the 'concert animal hall' depicts the League of Nations. The German in the centre of the note stands with his hand on the donkey and lets its tail be pulled out by the American with his dollar.
