Times of Lore - Origin (1988)

What happened to the High King Valwyn, ruler of the Kingdom of Albareth?  As a Knight, Valkyrie or a Barbarian, you must raid an Orc camp in the Dark Forest, explore the desert ruins, find the Temple of Angor and talk to peasants and innkeepers.  This simplified RPG is a massive game with plenty of locations and exploration on offer.  Wonderful intro screens which provide the background story while an excellent colour map is supplied.  Atmospheric music from Martin Galway, too
