Warhawk - Firebird/Proteus (1986)

Budget vertical shoot’em up which I can complete without cheating (just!).  Fast, furious and frantic action, especially at the end of each level where the alien spaceships zoom in at you from every angle.  Different from similar games in that your spaceship has energy and doesn’t die on the first laser beam that hits it - a very good idea!  The pumping soundtrack is by Rob Hubbard.
