I flew to Tunisia for a few days to visit my friends Rikki and Sandi, teachers there with the British Council. I knew them from when they were teaching in a nearby town in China. I would later visit them in South Korea when they moved there to teach. After settling into their house, I spent an enjoyable afternoon wandering around the largest bazaar in Tunis, doing some souvenir hunting. Later in the holiday Rikki and Sandi joined me for a fascinating visit to the ancient ruins of Carthage - the main rival of the Roman Empire. Whilst there I heroically managed to stop one of the pillars toppling over. But unfortuately, the hot air seemed to get to Rikki and he shrunk. Fortunately Sandi found him and popped him in her bag for later rehydration. The perils of desert travel I guess!
