Introduction
- If you are not too sure what Christianity is really about, perhaps the following short statements might help. If you would like more help, then please email me.
What is a Christian?
- A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ was God's Son, that He was born to a virgin, that He lived a completely perfect life in every way, that He was sentenced to death because of the wrong in our lives so that we can be forgiven and that He was raised back to life again. A Christian lives to please God in everything and trusts the Holy Spirit to help him.
The Bible says:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

What is the Bible?
- The Bible is God's Word. It was written over thousands of years by men who were inspired by God as to what to write. This is how we can know what God is like and what He wants for us.
But I can't see God or Jesus!
- This is difficult for some people. You can't see air but you know it is there. You can't see electricity but you can see what it can do. It is the same with God. You can't see Him but we can know He is there and we can see the things He does.
So what should I do?
- God wants us to be able to experience Him and to live our lives with Him. He wants to let us live with Him forever. But we can't live the way God wants on our own. We are always doing things that are wrong. That's why Jesus died on the cross all those years ago. He took the punishment that we deserve for the wrong things we do, say and think about. God will forgive us for these if we believe that Jesus did die for each of us. We need to trust what God tells us in the Bible. We need to trust that God loves us even when we go wrong.
You can ask Jesus right now to show you how to live. You can pray - talk to God. Don't worry if it seems like you are talking to yourself, God will hear you. Just believes that He does hear you. Tell Him that you are sorry for the wrong things you do and say and ask Him to forgive you. Ask that you might be able to accept what Jesus did for you and ask Jesus to be your guide in life. Make a promise that from now on, you will try to do the things God wants and not just your own will.
