I realise that next season is probably a long way from your thoughts, and that we don't have any more home matches this season, but some of you won't know where to find us. Whether it's for training or for a game you'll need to be able to find us.

If you think you are good enough and would like to attend one of our training sessions with a view to playing for us, we usually train every Tuesday evening, starting at 6:00 - 6:30, and finishing at 8:00 - 8:30, depending on the light available. We are always on the look out for new talent, so if you are interested, contact Mark Shenton on 01538 384457, to check the training is actually on (we could be playing somewhere), and at what time. Also, during the winter months we train indoors.

Our coach holds F.A. coaching badges.

Our home ground is at: -

WESTWOOD 1st SCHOOL,

WESTWOOD ROAD,

LEEK.

How To Get There

Until I get permission to reproduce part of a street map of Leek, you'll have to make do with written instructions.

There are five main roads into Leek, so I'll deal with each separately. Some of you may know shortcuts, but what I'm going to do, is to try to give the easiest way.

(1) A53 From S-O-T.

As soon as you first enter Leek, you have to go down a very long hill, called "Ladderedge", for 1 mile; this has one lane for downhill traffic and two for uphill.

When you get to the bottom of Ladderedge, turn left immediately after the speed camera and the bus-stop, into "Wallbridge Drive". Carry on through Wallbridge Estate along this road until you come to a T-junction, after about a mile. Turn right at the T-junction into Westwood Road. Our pitch is 100 metres on the left. (You should see the green railings on the left and the Middle School across the road, on the right. If you can't you're lost!). Park your vehicles at the side of the road.

A523 From Macclesfield

When you first enter Leek, go past Acordis Chemicals on your left and Leek Town F.C. on your right. 100 metres after L.T.F.C. on the right, is the "Dyers Arms". Turn right 20 metres after the Dyers - make sure you turn up the hill between the bollards, into Belle Vue, and into Kiln Lane, which is a dead end.

Carry on up the hill to the crossroads (Newsagent on the right, and decorating shop opposite) and turn right onto Westwood Road. Our ground is approx 400 meteres on the right, at Westwood 1st School. Park at the roadside by the railings.

A53 From Buxton

Carry along the A53 , through the traffic lights (Royal Oak on the left) and up the hill, through the pelican crossing lights, past the market on your left, and start to drop down the hill for about 50 metres. As the road goes downhill and starts to bend to the right, go straight on towards the Tax Office (Surely Leek's winning entry for "The Ugliest Building of the Last Century"), rather than follow the main road to Macclesfield. You are now on West Street (Hopefully!). Carry on along this road for approx 600 metres, our ground is approx 400 meteres on the right, at Westwood 1st School. Park at the roadside by the railings.

A523 From Ashbourne

Follow the A523 all the way to the roundabout, in the centre of Leek. Turn right at the roundabout, and at the traffic lights turn left , signed to Macclesfield. Go up the hill, through the pelican crossing lights, past the market on your left, and start to drop down the hill for about 50 metres.

A520 From Stone/ Cheddleton

Go past Birchall Playing fields on your left, and the Britannia Building Society on both sides. Go straight through the traffic lights, signed to Macclesfield. Go up the hill and at the T-junction turn left (the White Swan is on the left at this junction, and a large church opposite). Start to drop down the hill for about 50 metres.

If you still can't find your way - TOUGH! You'll have to ask a policeman!

Good luck, and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new.
