For the second successive week, Junior
Blues travelled to Endon where the home team were looking to
avenge last week's heavy Cup Semi-Final defeat.
Last week Blues had
to contend with a tricky frozen pitch, but the softer conditions for
this game were far more to their liking. Just like the encounter 7 days
earlier when Blues found themselves 3-0
in front early in the game, they again had a commanding early lead.
However, this time they went one better, with goals from Jamie
Robinson (2), Matt Bayley
(penalty) and Sam Hall giving them
a 4-0 lead inside just ten minutes.
Blues stayed on top
for the remainder of the half and with goalkeeper Jim Brunt a virtual
spectator for the second week running Blues
could and should have had many more goals.
HALF TIME: ENDON 0 - 4 BLUES
More goals followed early in the second half. Gareth
Allot scoring for Blues and Alex Wright
again pulling one back for Endon with an impressive finish shortly afterwards.
From then on, though, Blues
re-asserted themselves, dominating the remainder of the game as they
had done in the first half. Goals came at regular intervals with Gareth
Allott, Matt Bayley with a second penalty, Mitch Shenton and
Tom Bourne all getting on the score
sheet.
Although Endon battled throughout, this was another
comfortable victory for Junior Blues,
and their unbeaten run now stands at an astonishing 49 games.
