How many of you, I wonder, have heard that tale - or one like it - as an explanation as to why Unicorns do not 'exist' in the modern world? The reason being that they were too vain and drowned themselves in the process of showing off?
I found a childrens book a while back however, and in it was a different story. The reason the Unicorns did not get on the ark was because they stayed behind to help all the other animals to reach it on time, and although they tried to reach the ark, it was too late and they became the crests of the waves.
Which do you think is the more likely tale? I beleive the second one, for that sounds much more like the Unicorns I beleive in!
