The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society was formed approximately 80 years ago to preserve and further traditional dances of Scotland. Reels, jigs and the slower strathspeys are danced with partners in sets. Today there are dancers world-wide who enjoy this social form of exercise and hundreds of popular dances. The Peterborough and District Branch meets weekly from September to May on Tuesdays from 8pm to 10pm in St Mark's Church Hall, Lincoln Road. You don't need to bring a partner or wear a kilt but comfortable shoes are recommended. The branch holds two dances annually plus other social events. There is a demonstration team available for functions.
