Monday 15th September 1997 - Day Three, Tintagel Prev Next

Tent on a breezy day I had an uncomfortable night and couldn't lie or turn on my right side because of my hip. Next morning things were a bit better but I wasn't going to be walking on for a while so I totally abandoned hope of getting to Newquay. I booked in for another 3 days and bought a load of food on my credit card which lucky I was able to do because I was running out of cash.

I explored Tintagel in greater detail. You could buy a full size Excaliber sword (special offer this week only - pull the other one), Alice in wonderland/dungeons and dragons/knights of the round table chess sets, crystals, incense smoking dragons. It was fascinating and amazing. In one mystic shop a notice warned 'Thieves will be prosecuted, both legal and Runic'. I spent the rest of the day lounging about and reading. Lunch was chicken curry with new potatoes, well newish, and dinner was pizza and chips from King Arthur's chippie. I stopped reading when it got dark at 8 O'clock and passed out for the night listening to the radio.
