Boston Hockey Club

Minutes of the Committee Meeting held Tuesday 7th August 2007

  1. Members Present: Lisa Ceaser (Chair), Ian Ceaser, Shane Railton, Andy Barlow, Chris Goodliff, Tony Pygott.
  2. Apologies: Tim Humphrey, Ian Sanderson, Aggie Ashton, Duncan Burlingham, Sally Rollins.
  3. Acceptance of Minutes: Proposed: Lisa Ceaser Seconded: Shane Railton
  4. Matters Arising: Boston Sixes: Entries thus far were six ladies and four men’s sides in addition to the Boston sides. Two men’s and a ladies side would be entered from Boston. There would be an extra meeting held on 21st August to finalise details. Shirts: These would be discussed at the meeting held 21st August, orders were to be taken over the next few weeks for shirts. First Aid: This would be finalised for committee approval by the meeting on the 21st in time for the sixes. Goalkeeping Kit: An inventory still needed to be taken. Hopefully this would be done by September’s meeting.
  5. Treasurer’s report: It was agreed that Ladies all in subscription would go into line with the Men’s (i.e. £160.00) due to increased number of games and also that the fact that the Ladies now pay for teas as historically they provided their own hence the lower fees. It was also decided that with increased costs to the club, the £55.00 subscription would be increased to £60.00 to ensure that the club broke even over the season. * LCHUA membership fees would be paid by the club as thanks for those who umpire. The all in subscription would not change. * The full committee will ratify this item on 21st August.
  6. Junior Training: This item would be discussed at the September meeting due to Tim Humphrey’s absence.
  7. Any Other Business: Boston Community Showcase: The club would man a stall on Sunday 9th September in Central Park with a beat the Goalkeeper Competition. The logistics of this would be organised by Andy Barlow. Shane Railton & Ian Ceaser have already volunteered to go in goal. Lincoln Mixed: Due to the Men’s prior commitment with Bourne Sixes on the same day, Boston would not enter a team. Advertising: Lisa Ceaser, again, would try and put adverts around the town centre advertising the club.
  8. Date of next meeting: Tuesday 21st August after training.
