Constitution for PILRIG RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
(first adopted and approved 21 September 1998; amended 26 March 2003)
NAME
The Association shall be called "Pilrig Residents Association".AIMS
The aims of the Association shall be:
· to promote and represent effectively the areas interests.MEMBERSHIP AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
Full membership shall be open to everyone living in the Pilrig area.
Associate membership shall be open at the discretion of the management committee.
Subscriptions shall be fixed by the Annual General Meeting.MANAGEMENT
The business of the Association shall be managed by a Committee consisting of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer and up to six other members.
The Committee shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and members may not be elected for more than three consecutive years. The Committee shall have the power to co-opt to fill vacancies caused by resignations.
The quorum for Committee meetings shall be five.FINANCE
Proper accounts shall be kept by the Treasurer, who shall also prepare a balance sheet for the Annual General Meeting.
Any bank accounts, properties or assets which the Association may hold shall be vested in the name of the Association.
Two Association members who are not Committee members shall be elected each year at the Annual General Meeting to act as Auditors, examining and reporting on the accounts and the balance sheet prepared by the Treasurer.MEETINGS
There shall be at least one General Meeting each year, which shall be the Annual General Meeting.ALTERATIONS TO CONSTITUTION
The Constitution shall not be altered except at an Annual General Meeting or at a Special General Meeting called for that purpose. To be valid, any proposed alteration to the Constitution must be supported by the majority of the Committee or by ten members of the Association, and in the latter case delivered in writing to the Secretary.
