 My Biography

Well, if you wanted to know what I look like, here I am.  Incidentally, if you were wondering, this picture was not taken during the late 80’s.  I look like that now.  Sorry!  Just for the record I do despise most ‘Hair Metal’ and  have damn good taste in music.  Check the music section if you don’t believe me.  If you really want a laugh just think what the pictures I rejected must have looked like!  The picture was also not taken on the Day of Judgement, the flash reflected off the window and gave the sky that ‘end of the world’ look.

Rob at home

I was born in early 1973, which  means I should be old enough to know better.  To this day I have never been able to come to terms with the fact that the number one record at the time was Little Jimmy Osmonds ‘Long Haired Lover From Liverpool’.  This probably goes some way to explaining my annoying ‘more alternative than thou’ attitude to music.  I don’t really mind what it is as long as no one else has heard of it.  That’s probably an exaggeration, but not much.  Apart from music I don’t really have any other interests, which makes filling in the hobbies and interests section of job applications a nightmare.  In an effort to make my CV look more interesting I’ve joined my local hospital radio station, although no one seems to want to hear Rachel Stamp on hospital radio.  If you’re interested, you can find out more in my radio section.

Me pretending to be a Rök God

I did start learning to play the guitar many years ago.  I soon realised that I wasn’t going to be a rock star within the next few months so the interest waned fairly quickly after that.  I do still widdle occasionally though, and one day I may finally get around to learning to play properly.  I don’t actually remember this photograph being taken, but it’s obviously of me pretending to be Andreas Kisser or something.  By the way, my flat is not that big, I’m at my girlfriends parents ludicrously expensive place in the Barbican.

A few of my friends with more determination and talent than me got pretty good at the musician thing.  My great personal showbiz mate Mark overcame a terrible affliction that caused him to wear pink jumpers whilst vehemently denying it, and suffer from severe cake retention and now plays bass with Bal Sagoth.  Dave the drummer also wasted away great chunks of his life in the now sadly defunct ‘St Ives Music Centre’, along with Booga, who as well as developing the concept of humour as an offensive weapon, is the other half of Ezio, Cambridgeshire’s finest acoustic duo.   Apparently, Ezio are our glorious leader Tony Blair’s favourite band, to their great embarrassment no doubt.

If you feel you need to know more, I work for a Highway Planning Consultancy, I drive a sorry looking Sierra called ‘George’, I’m a vegetarian, although you probably guessed that from my pale and skinny pics (arf!), and I live with Lynsey (and her aminals) who somehow manages to put up with me.

That’s about all there is to know really, if you’re particularly tragic you could have a look at my photo album, or indeed a few of my favourite sites in the links section.
