Isaac married at the age of 26, on 21 October 1856, in the neighbouring parish of Seaton & Beer. The bride was Jane FOX, who was also 26, having been born c.1829 in Beer and baptised 20 September 1829 in that parish. Jane was the daughter of Richard Newton FOX and Izet WHITEMORE. Her occupation, as was that of so many women in the village, was that of Lacemaker. Whether the marriage took place at Seaton or in the old church at Beer, which served as a chapel of rest is undetermined - the present St. Michael's was built on the site of the old church in 1875. The marriage certificate shows the couple as both residing in Beer, how much earlier, and why, Isaac had moved from Branscombe is not known.
Only two children were born to the couple:
1. William James (Fred) born 2 November 1857, Beer, baptised 12 November 1857, Seaton & Beer.
2. Robert Fox born 5 March 1862, Beer.
Isaac & Jane lived most of their married life at Long Hill, close to the centre of the village. In 1891 they were living at Beer Street with aunt Jane Mackdonal.

Isaac died 10 June 1891 in Beer, his age was given as 61 but in fact he was at least 62 (ref. baptism date), the cause of death being Pneumonia Collapse. The informant of his death was Emma Newton, the wife of his son Robert. Isaac was buried in the Old Cemetery in Clapps Lane. Jane died 12 September 1902, in Beer, and was buried with her husband in the Old Cemetery. The passing of Jane was entered in the family bible of their son Robert, but may have been filled in at a later date as, it is mistakenly recorded as occurring in September 1903.
