Access to Northern Cyprus is via Turkey. The airlines that fly there are Cyprus Turkish Airlines (KTHY) and Turkish Airlines (TH). Some flights just touch down and no change of plane is necessary. The airport in Northern Cyprus is called Ercan. There are also ferries from southern Turkey; Tasucu to Girne (Kyrenia) and Mersin to Gazi Magusa (Famagusta). It is not possible to cross the border to or from Southern Cyprus. Car Rental It is possible to get around without a car. You need to rely on lifts down to the main road, where there are buses. You can more easliy get a taxi back up, although they can be ordered. However, it is easier to get around by renting a car. They can be picked up at the airport if arranged in advance. Alternatively, take a taxi to the village and then arrange a car from there. Typical car rental cost for a local type of car are about £16 per day and petrol is fairly cheap.
