Ma’Delphra : General of Dysantra who captured the company of seven.

Mailen : Girl who for a short time becomes Nakonbo’s love

Maku : Born in 1247 Maku was one of the greatest leaders of the Tivu. It was he who defeated the men of Ghrau and their allies of Ung Plith in the year 1287 adding the land of Ghrau to the Tivu empire. It was not until 1304, however, with the eventual subjugation of the Plitha that Maku felt his rule finally established. It brought peace that lasted until the rule of his grandson, King Zekumar, one hundred years later.

Mandle : Steward killed by unknown assassin.

Markum : Man with cart, bitten in the jungles of Keresh

Maul : ?

Maygda : Border town on the edge of the jungles of Keresh

Mazgru : One of Oru’s three generals and responsible for the Tivu infantry. Less glamorous than the fabled Tivu horsemen Mazgru sees himself and his men as the backbone of Zekumar’s army. He leaves the dash and heroics to men like Purok and concentrates instead on ensuring that once the glorious first charge has gone there will be men ready to soak up the bulk of the enemy army. Mazgru is in his early fifties but looks older. Years in the army and a liking for alcohol have left him dull witted and slow. Zekumar still respects him but now harbours doubts as to his suitability to lead but is unwilling to offer a slight to the old man’s credentials whilst there is no threat to the kingdom. Mazgru wears his uniform with less pride than most and often appears in drab faded uniforms. His rounded paunch and ruddy features make him the butt of many a mess room and barrack joke. Strangely though, his men adore him, perhaps because of his leniency when matter of discipline arise.

Melina : King Arntral’s Wife

Mizzlemere : The largely uninhabited hilly region to the east of Cangoria and the west of the Izle Mountains. This barren land is home to a few sheep farmers but has no major roads or settlements. The nearest market for the wool is Quinrarr some 5 days travel by cart.

Moonpool : Small lake near the village of Nigom

Moorlands of Marekh : are situated to the far north-west of the Young Lands and separated from them by the Marekh mountains. Here life has remained virtually unchanged since the first sailors settled there. Even by the year 1400 there was hardly any contact with the outside world and only a few people could speak the common Tynasian based tongue. It is a place of variety and great beauty that can snare the unwary especially in the more barren and isolated higher ground in the north-east of the kingdom. The land is one of rough craggy moorland from which the inhabitants grub out a meagre existence farming and rearing sheep. The moors are dotted with small hamlets and villages and recently a trading settlement has been established on the coast to encourage trade with the south. Eherith, the capital, is a compact, sombre looking city built from black basalt. Its squat walls and low towers give it an almost frightened visage as though it is a small animal cowering out of sight of the hunter. It was founded using money gained from mining low grade metal from the mountains along with some low-value gemstones. Marehk’s coast is rocky and forbidding with few places to lay anchor. For this reason few sailors risk sailing around the peninsular content to use the Bay of Marehk to shelter before returning south. The people are insular, distrusting "outsiders" and so over the years inbreeding has effected most families. Thus by 1400 we find that those with intellect are generally weak, whilst the more robust individuals often ere towards madness. It’s current king, Arpeligon the Mildly Deranged is in his early 20’s having inherited the kingdom from his father who finally succumbed to what is known as ‘Falling Sickness’.

Myrk Vantere : Commander of the Lancasian vanguard

Nakamba Valley : The Nakamba valley is a small natural oasis in the centre of the Burning Wastes. It was once revered by the tribe whose name it took as being ‘the place where life began’. Following the expedition by Corshan Gar and the Inthicans most of the indigenous life died out. The valley today is a peaceful, restful place.

Nakonbo : Native who finds Prince Reybold

Negar : Demoted Zetchra who remains loyal to Kara and joins Arg’s resistance group

Nigom : Home of the People of the Purple Blossom

Ohne : Grand Master of Tarr. Ohne is an old man now, probably in his sixties around the year 1400 and according to tradition now bound to remain inside the fortress of Tarr until his death. He is wise, kind, understanding and rules the weapon school strictly but fairly.

Old Tynasian Gods : Originally Tynash adopted the gods of the old Karazor religion. The monks of Karazor worshipped six deities. These were: Grazarok - Father of the gods and creator of the world. Grazarok is said to have been responsible for the whole of creation using substance of his own being to form the heavens and the earth. He was seen as a wise, if somewhat naïve, being who saw only the good in things. His symbol is the sun and its rising over a set point marked the beginning of a new year.  Delalia - Mother of the World. Delalia is Grazarok’s wife and her symbol is the moon. She is kind and gentle being the goddess of good sense, honesty, reason, love, marriage and union. Keryknak - the first born son of Grazarok and Delalia. A greedy, lustful deity whose ambition is to overthrow his father and become ruler of the gods. Keryknak is evil incarnate, the bringer of illness, disease, bad luck and death. His symbol is the black circle symbolising the absence of all that is good.Keryknak created the nether realms of the Dymonsath creating fell creatures in mockery of his father’s perfect creation. Using these as pawns he raged war on his father at one point entering the citadel of the gods and capturing his own mother Delalia who he raped and made pregnant. For this Grazarok cast him out of his kingdom and bound him forever to live within the foulness of his own creation. He is therefore associated with the earth wherein most believe him to be imprisoned.  Barasanth - the mild. Barasanth is Grazarok’s second son. He is warm hearted and the god of all that is good, of harvests and of pleasure. He is seen as the eternal spirit of spring being reborn to cleanse the world of the evil of Keryknak each year. His symbol is water which signifies new life.  Miks - god of mischief. A fickle being and the son of Keryknak through the rape of Delalia. His symbol is flame symbolising his destructive nature.  Lubia - goddess of chance. Lubia is also Grazarok’s mistress. She is worshipped mainly by thieves and gamblers, but also some soldiers, and her symbol is the air which symbolises the nebulous nature of her affection with man - one day she will aid, another she will turn aside and leave her follower to their fate.  Although still worshipped by some the old gods are mainly remembered because of their association with the six Tynasian days of the week: Grazdy, Dalady, Kerykdy, Barasby, Miksdy and Lubiasdy.

Oman Keldon : A member of the Grim Reapers. Keldon was a large, brutish man about twenty five years of age. He’d deserted from the Thanys Regulars after killing his commanding officer. He had a rugged, outdoor face with a pinched nose and cruel mouth.

Orra : Goddess of the Lancasians. Also known as the Earth Mother. Orra demanded that her follows take her word to the rest of the world and that all should come to worship her. Bloodthirsty and cruel, belief in her gave rise to one of the most fanatical and cruel religious orders ever seen in the Young Lands. Orra died, if a goddess may in fact die, at Kara’s hand in the year 1404. Her death throws destroyed Lanca, ridding forever the Young Lands of the Lancasian faith.

Oru : King Zekumar’s warlord and commander of all the forces of the Tivu empire. Ovu is short and wiry, and despite being in his early sixties still has some brown colour left in his close cropped hair. His mind is quick and agile and his mastery of tactics is sound but untried as the Tivu have been at peace since the subjugation of the Ung Plith tribesmen.
