P. Q. R.
Pal Venk : Second in command of the Grim Reapers and long-time friend of Dohzan Paydor. He was black haired, black eyes and slim, and wore oversized, ill-fitting clothes. His body was lean and well-muscled honed through over fifteen years of fighting. Before joining the Grim Reapers he had been a Syrakian Legionary.
Phelmik : Mayor of the city of Jeroth. Phelmik is taller than most Tivu people due to his ancestors having come to the area to seek their fortune in the gem mines that honeycomb the mountains in which Jeroth stands. A tall, imposing figure Phelmik has personal wealth to equal that of Zekumar himself. This he displays with his gold, gem encrusted chain and pendants of office and robes, made from imported Hazarian silks, that he wears. Unlike others of the area Phelmik wears his blond hair cut at shoulder length and usually has a neatly trimmed beard and moustache. Jeroth needs the support of the Tivu, though, because the city has no fertile land around it. Phelmik will therefore offer Zekumar all the support he needs in exchange for favourable trade treaties.
Pilgar Benedict : A healer who had been a member of the of the Grim Reapers for fifteen years. Dohzan Paydor had found him beaten up and dumped on the side of the road with his collection of herbs stuffed unceremoniously somewhere unpleasant. Benedict had merely explained it as another unsatisfied client, but Paydor had always suspected something far worse. Since then, however, Benedict had proved his worth over and over by repairing men partly destroyed by battle, and helping the company overcome the many illnesses that had dogged them over the years. Now and then he slipped up and a man would die, but more often than not he cured rather than killed. No-one knew how old he was, nor where he came from. Pilgar remained a lanky, shambling figure in scruffy clothes who smelt of sweet herbs and sweat. One of only two of the Grim Reapers to survive.
Potenay : Tarrian sword-master and Cahrn’s teacher for his latter years at Tarr. Potenay is a small, slightly rotund man who is now going bald. When he passed the Ceremony of the Bonding he left Tarr with three other weapon-masters and after fulfilling his assignment returned alone, the others having died.
Priests of the Enlightened Way : Descendants of the Di-Zan-Chra that have become mutated through exposure to refined Izrath.
Prince Reybold : King Arntral’s second son.
Purok : One of Oru’s three generals and responsible for the Tivu cavalry which is seen as the cream of the Tivu army and is made up of men from all parts of the empire. Purok is fiercely proud of his long military lineage and sees himself as the epitome of the ideal soldier. This pride and confidence in himself shows in every aspect of his life; unfailingly impeccable in all that he does, Purok will not leave his home unless dressed in his military uniform and with his hair and moustache carefully groomed. Short, but well proportioned and without an ounce of fat over a physique that he has honed over the years with an intensive regime of training and weapon’s practice, he can dominate any function he attends.
Quatar : A single being with four faces. Enigmatic, mystical, and changeable. A man’s fate depends upon which face is looking at him when he comes before him.
Radiant Ways : Corridors in the Temple of Light
Raktar : The member of the Thieves’ Guild who trained Synak.
Reynard : Landlord of the Hammer and Tongs in Maygda
River Berina : A river
River Ry : River that borders Clos Ryniere
River Tybra : The river that empties from Lake Trécanth, meanders its way south east through north eat Sevra and reaches the coast where Port Anulus stands. The river is famous for its salmon and trout.
Ross Drenk : Sergeant in the Tynasian army assigned to the Free Region Fort serving under Lieutenant Cross. He was a grim looking black-toothed rogue who had been pardoned from the gallows on the understanding that he would spend the rest of his days in the army. Not a thinker, Drenk preferred to be led and would not offer an opinion even if asked. He was killed along with ten other men by the Lancasians while investigating the cloud of dust that harbingered the arrival of their army. He therefore had the dubious honour of being one of the first to die.
Rta : lord of the Fisherfolk of the Fa. He is in his middle fifties; a quiet man, but wise. Rta has the broad build of a man used to the hard life of a fisherman, his skin is bronze and his chest muscles His boatmen may travel as far south as the principality of Percu but rarely venture out into the Sea of Zarth.
