This game was sat out by Reon Juskowiak who earlier today signed for St. Andrews
and so was unable to play for either team. The Primrose would like to thank Reon
(A former player of the year) for all his time with the team and wish him all
the best for the future. The game started at a lively pace and in only eight minutes St. Andrews were one up courtesy of a soft penalty that was well taken and gave Kevin Smith in the Primrose goal no chance. The game continued at a good pace and Primrose had the better of the play. Halfway through the first half Neil MacLeod was struck in the face by Buchart but for some inexplicable reason only known to the ref. he was only shown a yellow card. Five minutes from the end of the half Stuart Foster buried a well taken half chance to level the scores. Moody was booked for St. Andrews just before the end of the half for a hefty tackle on Gary Osborne. Two minutes after the restart James Lakie scored for the Primrose with a well taken header and a few minutes later Neil MacLeod almost did the same with the bar coming to the rescue of the St. Andrews Keeper. Primrose continued to press and were stunned when St. Andrews scored after a break away. A low innocuous cross came over and when the Crossgates keeper punched it out it ricochetted of the back of one of the defenders and ended in the net. St. Andrews went ahead from a well executed training ground move from a free kick just outside the box and then scored again shortly after when the keeper came off second best in a one on one. The goal was again well taken. Primrose brought on Trialist Sykes for Osborne and Sharp for Patrick and ten minutes from time Stuart Foster picked up his second and Primrose's third. Although Primrose fought hard until the end of the game yet another defeat was the sorry outcome. Teams. Primrose: Smith, Hobbs, McBride, Millar, Lakie, McLeod, Laing, Foster, Deans, Osborne, Patrick. Subs: Westgarth, Trialist (Sykes), McQue, Rushford, Sharp St. Andrews: Clark, Makin, Dochard, Moody, McDonald, Hamilton, Butchart, Nichol, Caithness, Jeffery, Lofting Ref: Kevin Martin * Very poor game by the ref who semed reluctant to use his cards at all today and when he did he was chicken. Why for example when he tells a player that a free kick is further back and the player just takes it anyway does he then play on and not make him take it again from the correct place. Man of the match: Stuart Foster, two goal hero |
