The Primrose were meeting Steelend for the third time in nine matches and should have been on a high after drawing their last two games with Super League side Hill of Beath and league leaders Thornton Hibs. However today seen one of the most lack lustre performance so far of their sorry season.

Right from the off Steelend were up for it and in only three minutes Rushford was challenged in the Primrose goal and pulled off a fine save.

On thirteen minutes Steelend got a corner and Ravenscroft came close with a fine effort. And a few minutes later Stuart Wilson got the ball but blasted wide with only the keeper to beat.

Midway through the half the Primrose Sykes came close with a long range shot and a few minutes before the end of the half Martin Ward of Steelend picked up a yellow card and Gary Osborne came close when he got on the end of the free kick. McLeod also had a good long range shot just at the end which was ushered round the post by Shepherd.

Into the second half and Steelend were still on top and got a corner 5 minutes into the half. Rushford spilled the ball and picked up a yellow card for arguing with the ref about the challenge.

The game continued fairly uneventfully until Steelend whipped in a cross from the right that the Crossgates defence just watched allowing Ward to steam in and stick the ball in the net. Primrose tried to get back into the game but never troubled Steelend.

Primrose substitutions were Patrick for Osborne and Steelends were Creilly for Myles and Reynolds for Pryde
