A new era for the Primrose today as we started the new season with a team that had not one single player in its ranks from the start of last season.

Oakley had the most of the first 5 minutes while the Primrose took time to settle.

Oakley then went 1 nil up in 9 minutes from a snap shot from the edge of the box from Rushford. It looked to be heading over but dipped in over Shepherd in the Primrose goal.

This goal seemed to settle the Primrose and they re started the match with a purpose and started to make inroads into the Oakley half. After some good link up play from Buchanan, Raymond Brown and Brian Boardman,  Mike Brown got onto the end of a squared ball and rifled in the equaliser.

A few minutes later and Brown should have had his second but his effort went just wide, Buchanan then hit a long cross field ball that Boardman got on the end of and again the final shot sneaked past the post.

Half time 1 - 1.

Crossgates had the most of the play in the second half and 7 minutes into the half Boardman got on the end of a fine through ball and stuck it through the keepers legs.

Some more good work down the right created chances for Mike Brown, Raymond Brown had a fine scissors kick that narrowly went over the bar and Gregg Robertson had two fine headers that both required fine saves from Maitland.

Oakley equalised on 68 minutes when Malcolm reacted first to a loose ball froma corner, Patersen should have put Oakley ahead a few minutes later but he steered his header past the post when it looked easier to score.

The rest of the game was played out with no let up in pace from the start of the game but neither team could manage a winner.

Final score 2 -2.
