Primrose were looking to build on the good result they got last week and for the
first 30 minutes looked like they were capable of doing so. Thornton got off to a flier but Kevin Smith in the Primrose goal pulled off two tremendous saves in the first 10 minutes when two well struck shots were fired in through the masses and although he saw them late he got down well. In 25 minutes John Paul Hobbs whipped in a low cross which went right through the Hibs defence and Matt Sykes was on the spot to put the ball away. Osborne picked up a niggly injury and was replaced by Deans after 30 minutes. The game was fairly even for the next 10 minutes until Thornton broke away, Smith again pulled off a good save but the ball spilled out to McAinsh who was able to round the stranded keeper and equalise. The Primrose defence were missing in action and I'm not sure they ever came back. Leading upto half time Primrose came close when McLeod struck a volley from 20 yards out that narrowly went past, they also had a promising attack stopped for offside when the ref failed to spot a defender standing right in the middle of the goal about 3 yards from the goal line. Second half started and it was like Crossgates had changed teams. Three minutes into the half and Cunningham whipped in a cross similar to Fosters in the first half and the kepper went with the attacker who deftly stepped over the ball letting it go in, again no defence to be seen. Two minutes later and a cross from the left was met by ex Primrose player Braid who scored with a superb diving header. Primrose never got back into the game and their misery was complete when Cunningham put in a high deep cross that no one picked up and it ended up in the net. In the end the result was a fair one.
