The free scoring Lochore Welfare were halted by the three scoring Crossgates Primrose when they were beaten 3-2 at Humbug Park today. The fourth match in a row that Crossgates have had that has finished with that score.

The wet and windy conditions made it hard for both teams and it was Crossgates that got the first goal 35 minutes into the first half when Grant Laing drilled a half cleared effort low and hard into the corner of the goal.

As has so often been the case so far this season for the Primrose they quickly gave the goal back when no-one picked up McMaster and he was given a free header that Houston could do nothing to keep out.

Just before half time Lee Black got his 5th goal in 5 games when he picked off a poor stop by Crow and was able to head the ball over him before running round and making sure his effort hit the net.

The second half was played at a similar pace as the first and first blood in this half also went to Crossgates when they extended their lead whenGary Osborne pounced for the second week in a row on a long clearance from Houston and restored the lead for the Primrose then stupidly picked up a yellow card for taking his top off as part of his celebration.

Greg Sutherland pulled one back for the visitors but thankfully the Primrose were able to hold out and pick up a well deserved win.
