After the disappointment of last weeks defeat at Thornton the Primrose were hoping to continue their 100% record this season against visitors Steelend Victoria.

The game started at a furious pace and play was end to end with the Primrose having the edge. Deans was his usual hyperactive self and his constant running caused a bit of trouble for the Steelend Defence.

35 minutes into the game and the Primrose earned a corner that was whipped in and when the ball spilled to Neil McLeod he rifled in a cracking right foot shot that left Shepherd in the Steelend goal no chance.

Another corner 5 minutes from half time could have gave Primrose their second but Lakie's snap header went just over the bar.

Into the second half and the game continued at breakneck pace. As the players got tired and frustrated the timing of the tackles got a bit off and this resulted in Pryde, Ravenscroft and Wilson of Steelend all picking up yellow cards. Millar for the Primrose picked up a yellow also.

Steelend pressed hard in the end and when the ref missed a handball and allowed play to continue Rushford in the Primrose goal pulled off a fine save from a well struck, deflected shot.

In the end a good 3 points for Primrose but a disappointing score line. We will have to play a whole lot better if we expect to pick up any points next week at Lochgelly.

Primrose substitutions were Hobbs for Laing and Nicholson for Patrick.

Steelend substitutions were Sharpe for Chander, Robb for Kennedy and Reynolds for Myles
