This was a very physical Lochore team that came to the Humbug for the latest in League Cup section games. The Primrose started the better of the two teams and Graham "Dixie" Deans was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions.
The tackling from Lochore was at times bordering on the grounds of assault and a much stricter referee would have been brandishing red cards about willy-nilly.
The Primrose started the second half without the services of Reon Juskowiak and Tom McQue, with the former being on the end of a very late, over the top tackle.
Welfare went two goals up from James Smith and Gary Gilfillan before the Primrose reduced the leeway when Gary Braid converted from the penalty spot.

Man of the match: Graham "Dixie" Deans
