With Hill of Beath and Kelty Hearts already having qualified from this group todays
game was effectively a nothing game but credit to the players for supplying
an entertaining game in dificult conditions. Crossgates opened the scoring in 7 minutes when Lee Black reacted first to a poor clearance before deftly chipping Crow in goal for Lochore. Graeme "Dixie" Deans made it 2 nil shortly after when he got his head to a whipped in cross. On 21 minutes Ward got one back for the home team when he rounded Houston before cutting back and rifling a shot past Patrick who had got back to the cover the line. 5 minutes before the end of the half Burke managed to squeeze in front of the defence and score a fine header. The second half wasn't as lively, Dave Wilcox, the Crossgates Manager, went into goals to replace Houston who has a niggling groin strain and Roberton of Lochore had an early bath for a mistimed tackle on Grant Laing. Lee Black continued to trouble Lochore and had one disallowed for offside and another of his shots hit the post. Crow produced several good saves to deny Black, Sykes and Deans but the score was probably a fair one in the end.
