Crossgates got off to their usual poor start and were one down in 4 minutes when
no-one picked up Budd at the back post after a quick cross that came in from the
right. Crossgates picked up the pace a bit and were level after 12 minutes when Boardman scored with a superb overhead kick which came in out of the blue when the move appeared to have broken down. Both teams had further chances but the half finished level. The second half started like the first with the Primrose losing a quick goal. This came from a corner that wasn't cleared and when the ball fell to Kowbel he made no mistake with the finish. Newburgh had a few chances to extend their lead but Mullen cleared from the line and Horn turned a header round the post, both moves again from corners. Crossgates also had a few chances and Mike Brown had a goal chalked off for being offside. Halfway through the half and the Primrose were awarded a free kick twenty five yards out on the left. When Boardman decided to strike instead of crossing it caught everyone off guard and the keeper had no chance with the shot. A truely super goal. Newburgh came close again when Sibanda struck a free kick from tewnty five yards out but Horn was equal to the challenge. Five minutes from time and a Newburgh defender handled the ball in the box and Mike Brown just about burst the new with his shot. A better fight this week from the Primrose, still need to concentrate more from the off but fine performances all round.
