A convincing 4th successive win for Saints takes them up to 2nd place in the league. They were dangerous right from the start and several chances were created in the first 5 mins. The first goal came in 6 mins. Caithness for Saints, after good work on the right, put in a low cross and it got to the far post where JEFFREY, unmarked, fired home from close range. 7 Mins later another excellent Lofting free kick, on Saints left, was met by Jeffrey who managed to squeeze a header home for his second. It was mostly Saints with Primrose trying hard to get into the game but having problems with Saints' pace in breaking up front. The home team should really have scored at least one more before the break. The second half progressed in the same way with Saints looking for more goals and getting them. In 50 mins, after a good low cross by Nicoll, MAKEIN managed to break square across the penalty area and hit a good left foot shot into the corner of the net. In 65 mins a pass back by a Primrose defender caused problems for their goalkeeper and NICOLL blocked the attempted clearance. Despite being brought down in the area he recovered well to beat the Primrose defence and stretch to score with a left foot shot. A well deserved goal for his efforts. Despite other chances Saints failed to add to their score and naturally eased off a bit. With 5 mins to go Crossgates got their first real chance of the game when a ball was cleared off the line by Lofting. With a min to go Crossgates got their consolation goal from a free kick when MCLEOD headed home.
