Old Stirling

Old Stirling

A description of old buildings illustrated with photographs plans and diagrams by Ronald G. Cant and Ian G. Lindsay.

Old Stirling Aquatint. It shows the town from the north with the plain of the Forth valley, in the foreground. The curving course of the river and the four arches of the Old Brig are clearly indicated. Beyond the river, the burgh rises steeply on its ridge to the crowning eminence of the Castle.

There are several collections of local historic photographs, many published by or available from Stirling Council Libraries.

Many of the buildings here are open to the public, but hours and admission charges may vary and should be confirmed with Stirling tourist information.
