Old Stirling

St. Ninians

The village of St. Ninians, now a suburb of Stirling, has contained a great many old houses. Unfortunately, most of those that survive are now in poor condition, but there is an exceptionally attractive and well-preserved group at the corner of Main Street and Kirk Wynd. It comprises two harled and crowstepped buildings set at right angles and linked by an arched gateway. Beyond this, in Kirk Wynd, is another crowstepped cottage which forms a most pleasing composition with the gate pillars and tower of the old kirk.
