Baker StreetAlthough most of the north side of the street has been demolished, there are still several old houses of interest on the south side. The group at the head of the street (Nos. 103-115) is now much decayed but has several distinctive features, including a turnpike tower. Nos. 57-61 and 45-49 are well-proportioned crowstepped houses of three storeys. In the case of the latter building, the wall-head is finished with a moulded cornice. At Nos. 27-29 is a narrow four-storeyed house with the coat of arms of the Stirling Weavers Incorporation in the front wall and a turnpike at the back. |
