FifeCrail Harbour
The county or Kingdom of Fife lies between the estuaries of the Forth and Tay, forming a peninsula with the sea on its eastern flank. Crail, one of the oldest of the royal burgs of Fife, is some 4 miles north-east of Anstruther. Traces remain of a nunnery and of the royal hunting lodge which once stood here. The harbour was at one time a flourishing seaport. |
