TRS Cricket Club was founded in 1998 by the merger of Totley Rise CC and Silverhill CC. Both teams had played for many years in the Norton and District League, but when this league folded they joined together and entered the Sheffield Cricket League. Matches take place on a Saturday afternoon usually but occasionally on a Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday. We also have a team that plays cricket on a Wednesday evening and players can choose to play Wednesdays, Saturdays or both if they wish. We have always tried to play the game in the right spirit, enjoying a laugh with the opposition whenever possible, but that does not mean that we do not want to win: its just we don't want to win at the expense of enjoying ourselves. TRS is a friendly club that appreciates how difficult it can be for people to commit to playing cricket every weekend. Most of our players manage to appear in about three-quarters of the fixtures, but some can only manage three or four games a season.
