Space Patrol in the UK
In the United Kingdom, Space Patrol seems to have had a national distribution, though with only a single screening and few repeats. It would appear that most regions followed (or started to follow) either the Associated-Rediffusion (i.e. Westward) or ABC (Granada & Tyne-Tees) screening orders.
Comparisons of the listings in each region highlight certain similarities, suggesting that a synopsis for each story was issued and the various listings newspapers & magazines took what details were the most appropiate (though not always!), or what space allowed. This has been confirmed in the case of Sara and Hoppity. Some regions resorted to a 'stock' outline of the series (see Destruction by Sound, left) and even omitted the episode title.
England - South:
Associated Rediffusion (A-R)/London area:
The screening order for this region is the most consistent with the production order. A-R held the franchise for weekdays, with ATV (ITC) having the weekends. Therefore Space Patrol aired on either Thursday or Friday afternoons, starting from July 5th 1963 and screening all 39 episodes by June 1964. A detailed listing is can be found here.
Anglia:
Anglia started to show Space Patrol on Thursday July 18th 1963 at 5.25pm. The following week, Associated-Rediffusion moved their screenings to Thursday so the two regions were synchronised. However, it is not known if the same episodes were shown simultaneously. Anglia continued with an unbroken screening of 24 episodes to December 26th.
Southern:
Southern was the latest region to screen Space Patrol, starting on Thursday October 3rd with a synchronised screening with Associated-Rediffusion as they recommenced after a short summer break. An unbroken run of 13 episodes to December 26th 1963.
England - West:
Westward:
At the time of writing, we can determine Space Patrol started airing on Westward Television in the same slot as the London Associated-Rediffusion schedule up until The Rings Of Saturn. At this point, London took a break of a few weeks but Westward continued with its own order, stopping after 19 episodes. No further transmission dates have yet been sourced.

Channel:
Owing to its small audience, Channel was often synchronised with Westward (or Southern) and simply relayed their networked transmissions. The series begain the same time as Westward (and also Associated-Rediffusion), on July 5th, with small variations which could be errors in listings.

* The supposed repeat of Volcanoes Of Venus is listed as The Buried Space Ship by Westward.
This coincides with the London A-R screening, which Westward - and Channel - had already shown.

England - North:
ATV Midlands:
In this region we have an about face from London, with ATV showing programmes during the week and ABC having the weekend. Space Patrol aired on Sundays from April 7th 1963 with the first 26 episodes screened by February 1964.
However the remaining 13 episodes which comprised Series 2 were not seen until much later, with 6 episodes screened from July 1966 and the final 7 appearing just prior to the reshuffle of television franchises in the summer 0f 1968. These constitute the last confirmed screenings of Space Patrol in the UK.

Granada:
Publicity photos distributed by ABC indicate that the North and Tyne-Tees regions started screening at the same time as ATV Midlands, on Sunday April 7th 1963. Newspapers at the time list 'Midlands & North' as having the same programmes at weekends during this period, and the Granada region TV Times gives the same airdates as ATV Midlands during 1963.
Tyne-Tees:
Starting the same time as ATV Midlands, Tyne-Tees adopted an order more in line with Associated-Rediffusion, completing 26 episodes (seemingly the whole first series) prior to Christmas - the first region to do so.They picked up the second series shortly after, completing it by the summer of 1964.
Tyne-Tees were also one of the few regions to repeat Space Patrol, with a near complete run of the first series from the summer of 1966.

* Quite incredibly The Miracle Tree Of Saturn is listed as being shown three times in the first series - finishing one run and starting and ending the next. It is possible the first airdate was cancelled and rescheduled - but as The Robot Revolution, The Cloud Of Death and The Forgers are missing, this suggests the listings are partially incorrect.

Wales:
TWW (Television West & Wales):
Adopting its own schedule, TWW starting airing the series from Wednesday 18th September 1963 with a complete unbroken run of Series One. As with Midlands, Series Two began in the summer of 1966 but showing all 13 episodes.
The entire series is rumoured to have been repeated around 1970 by HTV (Harlech), who took over the franchise for the region in 1968, but this has not been confirmed. However it is known that Sara & Hoppity was sold to Harlech and Southern around this time so this is a distinct possibility.

Ireland:
Ulster & Northern Ireland:
Belfast Channel 9 Television showed some episodes in an extremely sporadic screening from Sunday June 30th 1963. A second episode was shown on Sunday July 7th then there was a break of six weeks before another run of five was shown. No individual titles were listed, and no further episodes shown. Perhaps they didn't like the portrayal of the Irish Professor Haggarty...
With thanks to Russ J Graham of Transdiffusion.org. Mike Noon, Gerald McMullon, the British Library and the BFI Library.
Research is still on-going and Space Patrol - The Website would welcome any further information on screenings in the UK regions, especially Scotland and Ireland.
