Footpath Creation - Patshull & Pattingham
The Crown Estate have made an application for a Footpath Creation Order for the Patshull Estate. The path will be circular around the village of Burnhill Green. It will be approximately 1.5 miles in length following field edge paths and tracks through woods. It will entail a slight diversion of the one and only public footpath close to the west side of the village on to a convenient field edge. There will not be any stiles on the new path. This new Definitive Footpath will be a welcome addition to the Staffordshire network.
Use Your Paths Campaign
Nationally the Ramblers are asking us to "Take up the Challenge"
The Ramblers' Association is challenging all walkers to help us walk the entire length of rights of way network in England and Wales before September 2007. It's never been done before. There are 140,000 miles (225,000 km) of paths and to help make this enormous task more manageable, the challenge has been broken up into 1km grid squares - just right for a quick trip out on our marvellous network!
See the website: www.useyourpaths.info for further information
To take part:
1) Choose a grid square (or squares) to walk. You'll find the national grid on most maps
2) Walk all the public rights of way ( see the map key for information) in your chosen square(s).
3) Report any problems you come across ( obstructions, missing signposts etc) to the relevant council ( see above for details in Staffordshire ).
4) Log On to www.useyourpaths.info to let Central Office know you've completed your squares
