National Qualifier
For many school children the six week summer holidays can’t come quick enough, but for one 12 year old the start of the annual school summer break has especial significance.
Lucy Knibbs from Redditch Swimming Club has achieved the National Age Group qualifying time in the 200m Breaststroke.

Lucy, a pupil at St. Bede’s RC Middle School in Redditch, has been swimming at Redditch SC since 2002. She trains nine times a week, 3 of which are early morning sessions before school at Hewell Road pool.
Currently the Worcester County Age Group Champion in the 50m and 200m Breaststroke Lucy competed at the Midland Region Championships at Coventry in June.

Accompanying Lucy to the ASA National Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield at the end of July will be her parents Alison and Paul, younger sister Sasha and Redditch SC coach Barry Ferguson.
Redditch SC Chairman Graham Nice says that “the Club are extremely proud of Lucy’s achievement. Her dedication and hard work have produced this tremendous result”.
