REDDITCH SC AT THE ASA MIDLAND CHEESESTRING AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

The annual ASA Midland Region Championships produced some superb swims from the small team from Redditch SC.

The Championships were held at Coventry in the 50m pool over the first two weekends in June and brought together the best of East and West Midlands.

In the 11 years age group there were two fine swims for Michaela Britt. She competed in the 100m and 20om breast. Also competing in this age group was Elizabeth Humphreys. Although recovering from a recent bout of tonsillitis which disrupted her training, Elizabeth swam two personal best times in the 200m free and 100m back.

 In the 12 years age group were Danielle Harwood and Lucy Knibbs. Danielle competed in 7 events, achieving personal bests in 200m & 400m Individual medley and 1500m & 200m free.

Lucy swam 4 events the 200m & 400m IM and the 100m & 200m breast.

Dan Ruckwood, who is a member of Redditch SC but trains with City of Birmingham swam in the 13 years age group. Dan swam in 8 events, becoming Midland Champion in the 200m back and age group champion in the 200 free. Dan also achieved new personal bests in the 400m & 200m Individual medley and the 100m fly and free.
