Redditch Swimming Club at the 2008 Modern Biathlon Qualifier

Redditch Swimming Club made its mark again at the Midlands region qualifier for the British pentathlon modern biathlon national championships held in Birmingham. Leading the way to qualification was Nicola Moss  who was second in her class (Youth D girls – 11 year olds) and also won the the open triathlon event for her age group which includes pistol shooting. She will be joined in the finals by Clara Parker who finished fifth. Lucy Corden came in twelfth.

In the youth D boys Braiden Hartles came in a strong third with a fast 1000metre run and a personal best in  the 100 metre swim. The RSC youth D boys team qualified in second place with Braiden, Dan Bridgman and Adam Watson who finished 7^th and 8^th. These boys achieved third place nationally in youth E last year and will be hoping for success this year. Dan also took 4^th in his triathlon class.

Courtney Hyde took third place in Youth B and qualified for the nationals with a 2000m run and 200m swim and also won her triathlon competition.

9 year olds Will and Megan Moss added to the the success as they each won their biathlons although they are too young to compete in the nationals this year.

Sophie Bridgman completed the RSC entry and she finished 8^th in the large youth C class and finished fourth in her triathlon.
