Redditch Swimming Club Success at the National Modern Biathlon Championships

On Sunday 20^th May  six Redditch Swimming Club members competed in the Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain’s national biathlon championships held at Norwich Sportpark.

The highlight of the day was a superb team third place for the Youth E boys team. This is for boys who will be 10 years of age at the end of the year. The team, Braiden Hartles, Adam Watson and Daniel Bridgman started with a 1000m run where all three achieved personal best performances by a large margin. This left Braiden in 8^th place, Adam in 15^th and Daniel in 20^th place and the team in 4^th position. The afternoon saw the 50m swimming event held in the Olympic sized swimming pool. All three swam well with Braiden maintaining 8^th overall, Adam moving up to 12^th and Daniel to 15^th and when the final scores were added up this brought the team up to 3^rd overall.

The girls weren’t left in the shadows as Nicola Moss produced the 4^th fastest run in Youth E and went on to finish in a fine 9^th place overall. Caitlin Green also competed in the same class and personal bests in run and swim brought her home in 29^th place.

Youth D Hannah Rolls also ran and swam personal best times which gave her 36^th place in a very large and competitive class.

Well done to all RSC competitors who were a credit to themselves and the club!
