2^nd Sprint Gala

Sunday 11 September 2005, Wolverhampton

 

 

Redditch Swimming Club was well represented at the Worcester County Sprints Gala at Wolverhampton on 11^th September when 27  swimmers joined nearly 350 others from 12 other clubs in the day-long meet. After some fine individual performances the Redditch competitors returned with 22 medals, 8 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze.

 

Leading the way with a terrific performance and 3 golds was Paul Wilkes who won the 17-24 years butterfly, freestyle and breaststroke. Elizabeth Humphreys took gold in the 10 years Individual Medley and Backstroke and added silvers in the butterfly and freestyle. Lucy Knibbs received golds for the 11 years Individual Medley and breaststroke. Michaela Britt took gold in the 10 years breaststroke and silver in the 10 years medley.

 

Laura Cranshaw scored silvers in the 17-24 years freestyle and breaststroke and bronze in the medley and Amy Foster and Hannah Rolls took the silvers in the 9 and 10 years breaststroke.

 

Danielle Harwood won three bronze medals in the 12 years category, in medley, backstroke and butterfly. Nicola Strange took the bronze in the 13 years butterfly and also taking bronze at 9 years were Sophie Bridgman in the medley and Lydia May in the breaststroke.

 

There were plenty of other fine swims leading to top 5 finishes for David Green, Sophie Parkins, James Green, Daniel Strange and Emma Hardacre.

 

Also representing Redditch were Jessica Nice, Suzanne Britt, Emma Green, Robert Stanley, Jan Freihammer, Clara Parker, Oliver Plevey, Bethany May, Flossie Eglinton, Sasha Knibbs and Sophie Randall.
